Monday Message from Jerry Houston, President and CEO of HPISolutions
I am really looking forward to our upcoming webinar, Disengagement… The Next Pandemic? live on Zoom tomorrow, February 2nd at 9:00 AM MT. If you haven’t signed up click here and get registered for this very interactive discussion of disengagement and vision in the workforce.
One of the cornerstones of strong employee engagement is the issue of company vision. What is vision, and how does it impact the issue of employee engagement?
Vision is the ability to see, to think about, or plan the future with imagination and wisdom. Great leaders understand that a company without a clear vision is like a ship without a rudder. If you expect your team to understand the direction, the reason why your company exists, you must ensure that they understand it (better yet they should help create the vision) in order to buy into what you as a team are trying to accomplish. When people are really into what the business is about, are clear on their part in accomplishing the goal, and feel in on what it will take to reach the goals that have been defined (mission), you will find a much more engaged group of employees than otherwise possible.
Remember the old saying, “stopping one guy running down the field is easy… stopping 100 is another story”.
Have a Great Week!
