That Makes Me So ANGRY!

Monday Message from Jerry Houston, President and CEO of HPISolutions

I am positive that everyone reading this week’s message has been angry, at least once in the past couple of weeks.  Anger is a natural human emotion.  Given the state of things; COVID, the challenge of getting an appointment for a vaccine, the constant infighting in Congress, high unemployment, etc.,etc. isn’t it our right to be angry?

I was thinking about this natural emotion when I opened my daily devotional from Max Lucado, GRACE for the moment, to get my intake of inspiration for the day, when I discovered this message:

“Anger.  It’s a peculiar yet predictable emotion.

It begins as a drop of water.  An irritant.  A frustration.

Nothing big, just an aggravation.  Someone gets your parking place.

Someone pulls in front of you on the freeway.

A server is slow and you are in a hurry.  The toast burns.

Drops of water.  Drip.  Drip.  Drip.  Drip.

Yet, get enough of these seemingly innocent drops of anger

and before long you’ve got a bucket full of rage.

Walking revenge.  Blind bitterness….

Now, is that any way to live?  What good has hatred ever brought?

What hope has anger ever created?  What problems have ever been resolved by revenge?”
