Feeling Blessed

Monday Message from Jerry Houston, President and CEO of HPISolutions

I don’t know about you, but I find that in this era of pandemics, war, shootings, rising inflation, gas prices and supply shortages, it is easy to get discouraged.  That said, we all should step back for a moment and feel blessed for all that we do have.  Family, friends, colleagues, clients, all in a country where we enjoy the greatest amount of freedom and security anywhere in the world.

It is so easy to dwell on what is wrong than what is right for each of us.  I think even more interesting is that our attitude toward what is going on around us is the greatest contributor to whether we feel despair and worry, or whether we feel joy and happiness.  Perhaps like many of you, I sometimes allow the littlest things to lean heavily on me.  Do worry and despair ever gain us any positive solutions to what is happening in our lives?

Millions of Christians celebrated the holiest day of the year yesterday, Easter.  Jesus Christ lived and died for us and our sins so that we could have eternal life.  We know that life on this earth is very short in the scheme of things.  Christians believe that our eternal life is waiting for us.  While we are waiting, it seems to me we should count our blessings and do our best to not focus on the rest.
